The Red and Green Tours are two of the most popular sightseeing tours in Cappadocia. They are typically offered by tour operators and hotels in the region and offer visitors a chance to see some of the most iconic and beautiful sights in the area.

The Red Tour typically includes visits to the following sites:

  • Goreme Open Air Museum: a UNESCO World Heritage site that features an extensive collection of rock-cut churches and monasteries dating back to the 10th century.

  • Cavusin Village: a picturesque village that features many abandoned cave dwellings and churches.

  • Pasabag Fairy Chimneys: a unique geological formation that features tall, cone-shaped rock formations that resemble fairy chimneys.

  • Devrent Valley: a valley that features unusual rock formations that have been eroded into shapes resembling animals and other objects.

  • Love Valley: a valley that features tall, phallic-shaped rock formations that have been eroded over time.

  •

The Green Tour typically includes visits to the following sites:

  • Derinkuyu Underground City: a vast underground city that was built by early Christian communities to protect themselves from invaders.

  • Ihlara Valley: a scenic valley that features a river and steep cliffs with numerous cave dwellings and rock-cut churches.

  • Selime Monastery: a large monastery complex that was built into the cliffs of Selime Village.

  • Pigeon Valley: a valley that features numerous pigeon houses that were used to collect pigeon droppings for fertilizer.

Both tours typically include transportation in air-conditioned vehicles, knowledgeable guides who can provide information about the history and culture of the region, and stops for lunch and refreshments. They are a great way to see some of the most famous sights in Cappadocia and to learn more about the unique geology and history of the region.
